I learned that shared leadership is a valuable thing to have in a healthy civilization. I never looked into the subject until the other day in Mr. Shoenhorn's English 12 A class. I can see in every day life where some people don't have equalization in not only the government vs the people but on a much smaller scale. A lot of whats happening in the book I'm reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is a lot of what happening in today's world just in a different fashion. An example on a smaller scale of how I feel equal rights are important personally to me because I've worked in the kitchen at Riverwood for going on 10 months now, since then t I've had 8 different chefs, come in for a month or so, say they have a "vision" of what they want to do with the place, then before you know it they're gone in the blank of an eye. even when things are good and we have a "full staff" its about 5 people alternating through out the week. when it should be two cooks and a dish wash everyday at the least. So I'm use to the long hours, as well as often getting phone calls on my days off or ask me to come in early and stay late. I'm no chef, but I can cook anything off the menu, not only can I cook it but I can also make it taste and look good too. I'm a hard strong worker that takes one for the team all the time, yet every time a new chef or even sometimes a cook comes in they act like I'm not qualified to handle certain situations because I'm only 18 still in high school. I always have to prove myself to the next guy, The crew I have are decent I suppose. But everyone wants to have rank around that place. When it comes down to it, it's all about equalization. Now that's key. Supervision is understandable, but equalization is key.
